Astronomer to Present Talk on Supernovae

WHO:   Dr. Doug Leonard, professor of physics, California Institute of Technology

WHEN:  Thursday, October 27, 3:30 p.m. (Reception with light refreshments at 3:10 p.m.)

WHERE:  California State University Channel Islands, Science Auditorium.  Follow event signs to parking.

WHAT:  Leonard will present a talk on the explosion of massive stars, called supernovae, and will advance different theories, including his own, as to the physical causes underpinning this phenomenon. The speaker is a National Science Foundation Astronomy and Astrophysics Postdoctoral Scholar at the California Institute of Technology.
