Economist to Speak on Immigration Policy

Camarillo, Calif., March 20, 2006 – Noted economist George J. Borjas will speak on immigration policy and the American economy Thursday, April 6, from 5:30 p.m. – 6:45 p.m

The speaker, the Robert W. Scrivner Professor of Economics and Social Policy at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, has researched and written extensively on labor market issues, and is the author of Heaven’s Door, which discusses immigration policy as it relates to the American economy.

Borjas’ work on the economic impact of immigration is often the focus of debate over immigration policy in the United States and abroad.

The event, sponsored by the University’s Instructional Related Activities, the dean of faculty, and the Business Adivsory Council, is free and open to the public.  Parking is $6 for a campus permit. Follow signs to the event, which will be held in Conference Hall 1.
