
Camarillo, Calif., March 20, 2006 – Two well-known children’s authors will be featured at the California State University Channel Islands first annual Children’s Reading Celebration and Young Author’s Fair Saturday, April 8, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Conference Halls 1 and 2.
Barbara Jean Hicks, author of Jitterbug Jam, and R. L. LaFevers, author of Werewolf Rising, will speak and autograph copies of their books. The event will also feature entertaining activities, including storytelling sessions, hands-on art projects, a book fair, and a reader’s theater presentation.
The highlight of the event will be a display of dozens of books created by young authors throughout Ventura County. The event is free and open to all children and their families. Follow signs to event.
The CSUCI Children’s Reading Celebration and Young Author’s Fair is sponsored by the University Library of CSUCI, the English Program, and the Ventura County Reading Association.
