WHAT: At the above place and time, Ned Alpers, UCLA professor and chair of history, will present a lecture titled, “The Indian Ocean in World History,” focusing on the Indian Ocean as a center of activity among nations of many continents, including Africa, Asia, and Europe. The lecture is free and open to the public. It is part of the University’s “Global Histories and Their Futures” series, cosponsored by the Instructionally Related Activities Board and the Historians’ League.
