
Camarillo, Calif., Oct. 25, 2010 – The Martin V. Smith School of Business & Economics at CSU Channel Islands (CI) has announced the second speaker for their fall speaker series. Dr. Sung Won Sohn, Endowed Professor of Economics for the Martin V. Smith School of Business & Economics, is scheduled to speak on Friday, Nov. 5 from 12 to 2 p.m. in Malibu Hall at the CI campus. The free program is open to the public and includes lunch.
Sohn is widely quoted on the world stage today and was named by the Wall Street Journal as one of the top five economists in 2009 and the “most accurate economist” in 2006. He is cited daily in domestic and world press.
A third program will be held Friday, Dec. 3, from 12 to 2 p.m. in Malibu Hall on the CI campus and will feature Jeffrey S. Klein, Chairman and former CEO of 101 Communications. This is a return to Ventura County from an old friend who will offer a unique and historical perspective from a media entrepreneur and former LA Times senior executive.
Dr. William P. Cordeiro, Director of the Martin V. Smith School of Business & Economics, said, "We have done lectures in the past but this is the first time we have put together a series. There will be another series in the spring. We do it to provide the students and the community with an opportunity to hear prominent business people share their thoughts and knowledge.”
