Let's continue with our application of headings to our sections within our document. Remember any good web page will have information organized into sections and each of the sections should be labeled with some kind of written heading and that heading should be marked using the appropriate heading format. The case of Upcoming Games, which heading do we use? It may help you to visualize how your website is laid out in an outline format. For example, if Mouse College Soccer Program is a heading 1 and the navigation is a subheading this means that navigation will be marked as Heading 2. If Upcoming Games is a heading that is of the same importance as the navigation and is not a subheading of navigation it should also be marked as Heading 2. So back in Dreamweaver I will click on the Upcoming Games heading and from the Format menu choose Heading 2. How about About the Packrats, is that the same level of heading as Upcoming Games or is it a subheading of Upcoming Games? Would this make sense? In an outlined format, probably not. This makes more sense which means that About the Packrats should also be Heading 2. Recent Game Photos, we'll mark that as Heading 2 as well. And Sign Up On Our Mailing List likewise, Heading 2. Save your changes. And we're going to preview this page again in Dreamweaver. File, Preview and Browser, Firefox. Now, you can see that our headings look a little bit different on our web page, they're a little bit larger visually but most importantly our document outline should now represent this outline correctly. So, again, we're going to click on the Information button on the Web Developer toolbar, choose View Document Outline and now we can see a nicely formed document outline with each of the headings marked in a meaningful, logical order.
