CSU Channel Islands Business and Technology Partnership

Welcome to the CSU Channel Islands (CI) Business & Technology Partnership (B&TP)! The B&TP is housed in the Martin V. Smith School of Business and Economics and also acts as a fund-raising affiliate of the CI Foundation. The B&TP’s membership is comprised largely of community leaders, business executives and professionals. The B&TP’s core values include: foster the collaboration of technology and related service based companies with CI and promote technological excellence among its students, faculty, and staff for the benefit of the region’s economy.

B&TP members have opportunities to interact with CI students, faculty and administration as they support B&TP initiatives internship programs, scholarships, and periodic events on a variety of informative topics.

B&TP Objectives:

Foster interaction between CSU Channel Islands students, faculty, administration, and regional technology-based companies through internship programs, academic scholarships, course guest lecturers, and mentors.

Facilitate coordinating CSU Channel Islands academic programs with the needs of the region’s technology based companies.

Make financial gifts to and on behalf of CSU Channel Islands through fundraising and corporate development to promote the vision of the University and benefit the long-term needs of the region’s economy.

Advance and/or showcase the application of innovative practices and technologies on the CSU Channel Islands campus.

Host periodic events to recognize community leaders, inform membership about CI’s progress and plans and feature guest speakers sharing topics of special interest to CSU Channel Islands and regional technology based companies.

Who We Are:

We are a group of community leaders, business executives and professionals who are committed to attracting a broad base of support and to enhancing the resources available to the University for carrying out its educational and region building missions. An Executive Committee provides leadership for the group and membership is open to individuals and/or companies who complete an application and submit annual dues. Members participate in B&TP initiatives by joining event and special purpose committees such as the Applied Mathematics, Computer Science & Engineering Committee (AMCSE), Leadership Dinner Committee, Holiday Mixer Committee, or Membership Committee.

What We Do:

The B&TP partnership benefits community members, university faculty and staff, and in particular, students through an exchange of information and resources, networking, and relationship investments. We believe that these are the types of partnerships that make a positive difference in education, industry, and our communities.
